Preventing Receding Gums From Progression

As one of the most common gum disease, receding gums can be prevented from occurring. When symptoms of receding gums are noticed, treatment is needed as it won't progress to a more serious dental condition. Untreated receding gums can result to treating periodontal disease and tooth loss at its worse. Proven that the link between heart disease and other medical condition with gum disease, untreated receding gums increases the risk of certain medical conditions.

To prevent receding gums from progressing, superior oral health hygiene should be observed and practice. Brushing and flossing regularly prevents bacteria build up. Using warm salt water solution is effective in eliminating harmful bacteria. Receding gums and gums disease can be entirely avoided with proper oral hygiene and visits to your dentist at least twice a year.
